Elevator Etiquette

Elevators are shared spaces. Following simple etiquette keeps every ride smooth, respectful and comfortable for everyone.

1. 01
Wait your turn. Step back and let passengers exit fully before boarding.
2. 02
Priority first. Let elderly, disabled, those with children or heavy items board first.
3. 03
Move inside. Head to the sides or rear to avoid crowding the doors.
4. 04
Face the doors to maintain comfort and personal boundaries.
5. 05
Exit promptly at your floor — a polite “excuse me” goes a long way.
6. 06
Respect personal space and apologise if you accidentally bump someone.
7. 07
Mind your belongings — keep bags low, in front, or by your feet.
8. 08
Keep it quiet. Keep calls brief or wait until you exit.
9. 09
Be button-smart. Press only your floor, or politely ask someone nearby.
10. 10
Don't lean or block. Avoid leaning on walls or holding the doors.
