Specified for the daily cycle a home actually runs rather than a commercial duty it will never use. Drive and door gear are chosen so the lift is not audible through the wall of the room beside it, and the AMC is held by the people who installed it.

Residential duty is a real specification, not a softer word for a commercial lift. The daily cycle in a home is a fraction of an office tower, and specifying for the tower buys you noise, cost and a machine room you did not need. We size the drive, the doors and the controller for the way the building will actually be used.

Because the lift usually sits against a bedroom or a living wall, the drive and door gear are chosen so it is not audible through it. Installation, statutory certification and the first year of maintenance are handled by the same crew, and the AMC afterwards is held by the people who put the lift in rather than passed to a subcontractor.
